About us
A modern bistro by the Danube embankment.
BAROZA Restaurant & Bistro is part of BAROK Hotel a Apartmány in Bratislava’s Petržalka district and has been cooking for guests since 2015. We focus on modern Slovak cuisine: our kitchen is built on a 24-hour broth, seasonal produce from small local growers and healthy protein from local livestock farmers. The kitchen has been led by head chef Jozef Biró since 2021.
You will find us in a quiet, green area, 500 m from the Danube embankment and the EuroVelo 6 cycle route, close to the nature reserve of the Chorvátske rameno and Jarovecké rameno arms of the Danube. The terrace seats 12.

What our guests ask us.
Are you open at weekends or for Sunday lunch?
No. We cook for the public on weekdays from 11:00 to 16:00, with the kitchen open until 15:30. In the evening and at weekends we open only by arrangement for celebrations, weddings and corporate events.
Do I need to book a table?
For lunch we recommend booking via the form, by phone or by e-mail at least 2 hours in advance. A booking is valid only once we have confirmed it.
Where can I park?
Right by the restaurant, free for guests; there is room for a coach too. The Betliarska public transport stop is a 3-minute walk away.
Do you have a children’s play area?
Yes, right inside the restaurant there is an indoor playroom with a certified climbing playhouse for up to 20 children. Parents keep an eye on the kids and finish their lunch in peace.
Is the restaurant suitable for families with children?
Yes. Besides the playroom we have a children’s menu: alphabet soup (a proper chicken broth with alphabet pasta), homemade chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes, rice or fries, and rainbow trout with buttery mashed potatoes and brown butter.
Do you have vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free dishes?
Vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are always on the menu; a vegan version is prepared on request. Allergens are listed next to every dish on the menu.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are welcome, inside too.
Is the restaurant accessible?
Yes. The entrance straight from the car park and the toilet are both step-free; the wheelchair-accessible toilet is in the neighbouring building.

You can pay by card or in cash. Wi-Fi is free for guests.

Yes, we pack food for you to take away. We only deliver ourselves: by arrangement we bring the food to you or send it by taxi.
How many guests can you seat, and can the restaurant be hired?
In normal service we have 45 seats inside and 12 on the terrace. For a celebration or wedding we host up to 65 guests in the restaurant and larger celebrations of up to 100 guests in the hotel’s conference room, in the evening and at weekends by arrangement. Party guests can stay overnight at BAROK Hotel a Apartmány.

Only outside, in a designated area with separate seating. The interior is non-smoking and air-conditioned.
What is the daily special?
Soup (0.25 l) and a main course (300 g) for €19.90, on weekdays from 11:00 until sold out. The head chef decides the dish on the day, so it is not listed on the website; ask our staff or give us a call.
